Team Building Activities in Week 4

Last week on Friday one of our teachers that had just left last year came to help us with some activities and also with doing fitness. Also to learn new exercising movements to we could do to stay fit.

A range team of team building activities help me to gain more confidence, get along with others, work together with others and make new friends. I enjoyed training with Ms. Komor because she was really funny and made us try lots of fun exercise positions. She created a whole lot of laughter with everyone and she made the exercising fun instead of pressuring us.

I also enjoyed when we played tug of war because it was fun to see others try their best even if they lost because they just said good game or shook hands with each other instead of getting angry or overreacting. II learnt that it's not always about winning but about trying your best and also about having fun.

I have improved on cheering on others and encouraging others to participate in the activities. I've also improved on being more confident to participate in the sports/activities. What I found challenging was when we had to do push - ups because I wasn't able to lift myself up or do it correctly because I kept on getting confused.

I am going to try improve on staying focused and not getting distracted. I will try to improve on keeping a growth mindset. I'll put 100% effort into sports so I don't let others down. I will try overcome my shyness so I can be able to do more things.

My Pepeha, Bio Poem and Artefact from home

This is a screencastify of me reading out my pepeha, bio poem and my arte that I brought from home.

My Reflection of Music and P.E

WALT: Create a reflection on what the Kia Manawanui syndicate has done during the day

Today in second block the Kia Manawanui syndicate had P.E and music. So we were put in groups of two one group would go to music and the other group would have P.E for half the time then we would have to switch.

My group had P.E first so when we went to the field we had to run or walk around the track first as our warm up. For P.E we played softball, but before that we were put into four groups two groups had to line up opposite to the two other groups. The first two people in the line from each group had to grab a nokona walnut ( type of softball glove ). Then we were given a softball so that we could throw it to the other group, as we were passing the ball around we had to move further so that when we passed the ball to our partner it would be more challenging.

After passing the ball around we had a real game of softball. We then went to our own positions which were any, but those that were batting had to swap with a fielder only if we made the home run but if we got out we just had to stand or sit down and watch the others play. I wanted to bat so I waited in line, when it was my turn to bat I hit the ball first try and started running luckily no one caught the ball so I was safe. I made the home run so then I had to swap with a fielder, I swapped with Paula because I couldn't find anyone else that didn't bat yet. When it was Arizona's turn to bat the ball she hit it but wasn't safe because the ball came straight to me and I caught it she did have a good hit but it still got caught.

Then it was our turn to go to music, in music we were learning about beat and steady pulse. At first we were listening to heartbeat noises what how they would sound like at a certain time. Then we listened to songs and tried to clap the beat but we had to try not to clap the rhythm. After that we had to grab a chair and then two drumsticks so that we could play with those and with our feet to make it more trickier for us. Then after listening to a real drummer play we got to try play it on the drums to challenge ourselves, the people from my group that went on the drums were Amon, Grace and the new boy De Niro. They did really well but got kind of confused in the end. Then we had to all pack up because we had run out of time because it was now lunch time.
